The Arkansas Department of Education is working with the Arch Ford Education Service Cooperative in testing a pilot program to bring web-based distance learning courses to students in Arkansas.
The first courses will be available starting in January 2000. In order to participate in these classes, superintendents or principals must complete the required forms and return to the Arch Ford Education Service Cooperative by December 13, 1999.
Attached is a memo and application information from Bill Beavers at Arch Ford Cooperative. This is an excellent opportunity for students meeting the course requirements to obtain instruction that may not otherwise be available to them during this time frame. The information obtained through this pilot will also assist the Department when making future decisions about web-based distance learning courses.
Additional information may be obtained by contacting Bill Beavers at Arch Ford Cooperative or Belinda Kittrell at the Department.
