The Arkansas Department of Education is proud to announce the fifth annual "Summer Institute in Comprehensive Health Education." This institute will be held on July 10-11, 2000, at the Riverfront Hilton, North Little Rock. The two-day training institute will be available to 35 previously trained Comprehensive School Health Education (CSHE) and Coordinated School Health Programs (CSHP) school teams (K-12) from around the state totally FREE! Lodging, meals, and materials will be provided to these school teams at absolutely no cost to the school!

WHAT IS THE SUMMER INSTITUTE ALL ABOUT?

This institute is designed to provide school teams with the most current and innovative information concerning Coordinated School Health Programs and Comprehensive Health Education. The institute also will provide school teams with the opportunity to network with other school teams, to share resources, experiences and ideas. A few of the exciting topics that will be discussed during this institute include; performance assessment, policy development, team building, programs that work, and assessing skill building activities.

Several national presenters will facilitate sessions during the institute. Dr. Jo Anne Owens-Nausler from the American School Health Association will be the keynote speaker. Kathleen Middleton from ToucanEd will present information on how to conduct performance assessments in health education.
