CHARLIE MAY SIMON BOOK AWARD
Tabulation of the 16,411 votes casted by students in grades four, five and six names the following titles as winners of this year's Charlie May Simon Book Award contest.
"Saving Shiloh" by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor is the first place winner.
"Joshua T. Bates in Trouble Again" by Susan Richards Shreve is the first runner-up.
"Amber Brown Sees Red" by Paula Danziger is the second runner-up.
ARKANSAS DIAMOND PRIMARY BOOK AWARD
Tabulation of the 40,667 votes casted by students in kindergarten, grades one and two names the following titles as winners of this year's Arkansas Diamond Book Award contest.
"Three Little Pigs" by Steven Kellogg is the first place winner.
"Chicken Sisters" by Laura Joffe Numeroff is the first runner-up.
"Little OH" by Laura Krauss Melmed is the second runner-up.
The awards are sponsored by the Arkansas Elementary School Council and the Arkansas Department of Education.
