The Department of Education announces the availability of grant money to be awarded to public or private agencies for the establishment of annual summer residential or day programs.
Included in this communication are the Guidelines for writing and submitting proposals for a grant award to operate an Academic Enrichment for the Gifted in Summer Program (AEGIS). These programs will provide enriched educational offerings for junior high and high school students who have demonstrated exceptional abilities in a specific subject area.
Three copies of the proposal must be sent to the Administrator of Programs for Gifted and Talented, Arkansas Department of Education, postmarked no later than Friday, November 3, 2000.
Previously funded programs are not automatically renewed. These are annual competitive grants. Additionally, applications received from any 2000 program will be considered only if the program's Final Report has been received and approved by the Office of Gifted and Talented.
