Over the past several months, numerous committees comprised of administrators, teachers, teacher educators, and Arkansas Department of Education personnel have convened to prepare recommendations on various teacher licensure issues. Some of these recommendations will be presented to the State Board of Education for possible adoption at its meeting on Monday, April 9, 2001.
Specific items for consideration of the Board will include the following:
1. Non-traditional licensure teacher program description and mentoring procedures
2. Licensure reciprocity with other states and countries
3. Professional and technical teaching permits.
