The Arkansas Department of Education is pleased to report that the Accountability Plan for No Child Left Behind, which includes the State’s definition of Adequate Yearly Progress, has been approved. A previous Director’s Memo (SI-03-041)included an early draft that was submitted to the U.S. Department of Education. Some revisions have been made to the plan in the negotiations that have occurred over the past several months. That final plan, as approved, is attached to this Director’s Memo. Department of Education staff will be working to inform schools and districts of their current status under this plan.
