The Arkansas 85th General Assembly created the Transitional Academic Facilities Program (Act 2206 of 2005) to assist in the transition from the State's previous debt assistance program and the new school facilities funding programs by providing reimbursement to a school district for eligible new construction projects for which debt was incurred or funds spent after January 1, 2005, and on or before June 30, 2006. The Division of Public School Academic Facilities and Transportation (Division) will provide school districts (based on the school district's academic facilities wealth index) with state financial participation for eligible projects approved by the Commission on Public School Academic Facilities and Transportation.
To be eligible for funding the school district must meet the following criteria: 1) the application must be postmarked or received by the Division on December 2, 2005;
2) projects must be new construction projects for which debt was incurred or funds spent after January 1, 2005, and on or before June 30, 2006.
