Act 1998 of 2005 amended Arkansas Code Section 6-18-901 addressing the maintenance of permanent student records by school districts. A provision was added to the statute to require that upon request by the Division of Youth Services, Department of Health and Human Services, a copy of the education record of a student, as defined by regulations promulgated by the Department of Education, shall be transmitted to the Division of Youth Services within ten (10) school days by the school district of whom the request is made.
