The Educational Services for the Visually Impaired in collaboration with the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE), Special Education Unit, and the Technology & Curriculum Access Center at Easter Seals Arkansas will offer professional development on the topic of assistive technology for the visually impaired. This workshop is intended for Vision Teachers and administrators, and focuses on issues of importance to students with low vision and blindness, including mobility, Braille, enhancements, low vision tools, classroom strategies and applications. Participants will rotate through sessions and will be able to participate in all sessions offered at the workshop.
The workshop dates are November 30, 2006, and December 1, 2006, and will be held at the Best Western Governor’s Suites in Little Rock. The workshop announcement, registration form, and agenda are attached. There is a $100 fee for the workshop. Participants must register for the workshop and with the hotel for lodging prior to November 15, 2006. Registration is limited to the first 50 people. On-site registration is not permitted.
