The Easter Seals Arkansas Technology and Curriculum Access Center (TCC) will be offering professional development on the topic of hands-on science and math activities that are appropriate for students with disabilities from preschool to high school grade levels. In this workshop, teachers and therapists will learn a variety of fun hands-on science and math activities that have been adapted for children of all ability levels. During the workshop, participants will be given materials to perform experiments and learn how to adapt the activities for individuals with disabilities. In addition, the experiments will be linked to the science and math Arkansas State Frameworks. Persons attending the workshop will have an opportunity to learn about microscopes that connect to computers and computer software that will enhance science and math programming. Participants will be given a detailed set of materials with over 30 experiments included, as well as, Boardmaker language boards for the experiments performed in the workshop.
Cost of the workshop is $75.00. The workshop is scheduled from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ on Rodney Parham Road in Little Rock Arkansas. It will be offered on each of three dates: March 13, 2007; March 15, 2007; and on April 18, 2007. Seating is limited for each workshop session.
