On March 17, 2008, the Commission of Public School Academic Facilities and Transportation (PSAFT) approved the Division plan to implement a statewide Computerized Maintenance Management System. The system will be available to all school districts and will provide an automated Work Order tracking and Preventative Maintenance Management capability. Also, it will provide a database from which school district maintenance reports can be derived. The base system will be funded by the division with initial access available to each school district. The school districts will have the ability to add additional users and additional maintenance tracking modules, based on operational needs. School district user accounts in the statewide system are at the discretion of the district.
A contract will be awarded to SchoolDude, Inc. of Cary, NC. Training for the program will begin in March with the first school districts coming on line on April 1st. School districts may request a starting date from either the division or SchoolDude. Training will be scheduled commensurate with that start date.
The statewide maintenance management system is in response to the requirements of Ark. Code Ann. §§6-21-808(c)(2)(A)&(B) and 6-21-112(f)(5) by assisting school districts to meet the requirement of a work order and preventative maintenance tracking system and the division reporting responsibilities to the legislature. It is anticipated that division reporting requirements will be met through reports generated by the school districts utilizing the reports in the SchoolDude system.
School districts are encouraged to contact either the division or SchoolDude representative to establish implementation and training dates.
