The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE), in partnership with Educational Service Cooperatives and Math/Science Centers, announces the opportunity for teachers and administrators to participate in science professional learning, SciKeys. The SciKeys trainings are based on the Arkansas Science Framework and research provided by National Science Foundation, Project 2061, and National Science Education Standards.
The SciKeys trainings consist of a series of integrated, authentic, inquiry-based modules for 5th grade, 7th grade, and biology. The modules utilize the expanded 7-E Learning Cycle and Instructional Model based on the successful 5-E Model (Bybee, 1997). A description of the modules is attached to this Commissioner’s Memorandum.
Registration information is available from the Science Specialists at the local education service cooperatives and regional math/science centers.
