The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE), Special Education Unit Deaf/Blindness Project and the Technology and Curriculum Access Center, Easter Seals Arkansas will be offering workshops on the topic “Assistive Technology Consideration and Implementation for Students with Deaf/Blindness and Multiple Disabilities.” This workshop will be offered at the following locations on the following dates:
May 7, 2009 - Arkadelphia – Dawson Co-op – register by 4/30/09
May 14, 2009 - Farmington – Northwest Co-op – register by 4/30/09
June 12, 2009 - Harrisburg – Crowley’s Ridge Co-op – register by 5/30/09
June 17, 2009 - Little Rock- Easter Seals – register by 5/30/09
The purpose of this day long workshop is to assist school teams in considering the need for assistive technology for students with Deaf/Blindness and Multiple Disabilities, planning and acquisition of assistive technology devices when appropriate and implementing assistive technology services and monitoring the progress of the student in using the devices and making progress in educational curriculum.
The workshop is from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (six hours). Certificates will be given at the end of the session.
