The Arkansas Department of Education is pleased to announce a grant competition for proposals funded under the Technology Literacy Challenge Fund. Proposals under this fund should address the need for infusion of technology into teaching and learning. Approximately $4 million in grants will be awarded.
Grants from the Technology Literacy Challenge Fund will be awarded for the following statewide initiatives: Smart Start Technology, Advanced Computer Applications, and Standards Driven Curriculum. Local districts (LEAs) or consortia may also submit proposals for competitive grants.
Proposals for competitive grants for the Advanced Computer Applications and Standards Driven Curriculum statewide initiatives are due on March 19, 1999.
Proposals for competitive grants for the Smart Start Technology statewide initiative as well as LEA or consortia proposals are due on April 30, 1999.
Guidelines for preparing grant applications as well as selection criteria are contained in the attached Request for Proposals (RFP).
