The Child Nutrition Unit of the Arkansas Department of Education is hosting the Healthy EDGE 2000 Trainer Workshop on November 17 & 18, 1998. The curriculum ensures that the Dietary Guidelines for Americans are incorporated in school food service and nutrition programs. Participants in the Train-the-Trainer Workshop are limited to School Food Service Directors, School District Nutrition Education Coordinators, Dairy Max Trainers or Department of Education Trainers. Qualifications of trainers for this NEW curriculum have been set by the American School Food Service Foundation. Participants must stay for the entire 10 hour workshop to be a certified trainer.
Amanda Dew Manning, President of Manning & Associates and former Associate Administrator of Food and Consumer Service, USDA, will be the presenter for the workshop. Enclosed you will find a description of the Healthy EDGE 2000 Trainer Workshop, registration and reservation information.
The Trainer Workshop will be held at the GreenLeaf Plaza Hotel, formerly the Holiday Inn Holidome, in North Little Rock. Registration for the training is $190.00. This includes: Participant's Manual, Training Manual, Disk with PowerPoint Slides, a continental breakfast and two luncheons.
