The Department of Education announces two requests for proposals (RFP) pursuant to awarding funds appropriated through the U.S. Department of Education under the School Renovation and IDEA Program. In Arkansas $ 8.18 million is allocated for awards in the school renovation category and an additional $ 2.7 million is designated to extend services to students covered under IDEA legislation.
The unit of application is the school; however, proposals must be submitted through a local school district. Those preparing proposals should pay particular attention to the components of the RFP. Priority for funding will be given to schools in high poverty areas and to schools from rural areas of the state.

December 14 – Proposals due by 4:30 p.m
January 18, 2002 – Tentative date for announcing awards
